Step #2 Finding Earning Potential Niche From Competitive Research
Competitor research is one of the important strategies to find out how well our competitor are performing out there in the digital world.
It’s always better to have good knowledge about the competitive market because it gives data about which tactics are working in the industry we are in and what we will need to do to start improving our keyword rankings.
To do competitive research to find earning potential niche all you need to do is:
#1: Identify Your Competitor
First run few google searches to find other sites in the niche that you are trying to target. Make a list of top five competitors that you want to use for analysis, and note it down in a sheet.
Now, you need to check if they are getting high traffic and comments in their content. If your competitor is earning more traffic in that particular niche you may also earn more traffic as well.
To do this Ahrefs is best research tool though it’s a paid one. But it comes with cool features where you can research about your competitor.
But I will be talking about free tool called Similar Web. Similar web is free research tool which can be used for competitive analysis. Simply enter one of your competitor name into Similar Web, scroll down and view full report.
In this way you will identify which competitor is best at their work and receiving lots of traffic as well as ranking good enough.
#2: Keyword Gap Analysis
It’s Important to determine which keywords your competitors rank well for that your own website does not. From there, you reverse-engineer why the competition is ranking well and then look at how you can also rank for those keywords.
To generate this report, I basically always use Ahrefs as it gives me detail data about the keywords that my competitors are ranking for. Just enter one of your competitor names into Ahrefs, scroll down into organic keywords and view the full report.
Beside Ahrefs Tool you can also use Ubersuggest for competitive analysis. It allows you to get insight into the strategies that are working for others in your market so you can adopt them, improve them, and gain an edge.
Step #3 Looking At the Reviews
If you thinking of affiliate marketing follow the steps as I mentioned earlier – look at the hot selling categories of Amazon.com. Also look at the reviews people left after purchasing those products.
Moreover, you can also find such niche ideas from other affiliate platforms like ClickBank, JVzoo, CJ, ShareAsale. If there are lots of different products related to that niche selling on e-commerce sites and affiliate platforms, it means there are people who are already making money in that niche and you should also start doing it.
Once you’ve confirmed the viability of a niche, start developing a full-fledged website. Begin with writing exceptional blog content that helps you to stand out from the crowd.
Be consistent and keep blogging according to a schedule.
It may take some time to gain hundreds of traffics visiting your site but eventually, you’ll see the successful results of your hard work. Just be patient.
